Who we are
NumbersForClients (“we”, “us”) provides client-facing calculators, lead capture and related tools for accounting and advisory firms through numbersforclients.com (the “website”) and app.numbersforclients.com (the “app”). This policy explains how we handle personal information. Contact details are at the end.
Two roles
- Visitors to the website and our customers (firms). We decide how this information is used, as described here.
- People who use a calculator on a firm’s website (“end users”). The firm decides how information submitted through its calculators is used, and we process it on the firm’s behalf as a service provider. End users should read that firm’s privacy notice; we refer requests we receive to the relevant firm.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: name, email, firm name, and a password stored in hashed form.
- Billing details: handled by our payment processor. We receive limited information such as card brand, last four digits and billing address, never full card numbers.
- Messages: what you send through forms, email or our newsletter sign-up.
Information collected automatically
- Technical data: IP address, browser, device, pages viewed and referring pages, in server logs for security and reliability.
- Preferences stored on your device: theme, color palette, accessibility settings, recent searches and your cookie choice. These stay in your browser.
- Campaign source: if you arrive from a campaign link, a first-party cookie records the source so that a later sign-up can be attributed (see the cookie policy).
- Analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies.
Information in firm workspaces
- Leads submitted through calculators (name, email, phone, message, consent, and the calculator’s inputs and results) and records the firm creates.
How we use information
- To provide, secure and maintain the website and app, including sign-in and two-factor authentication.
- To process payments and manage subscriptions, trials and refunds.
- To answer messages and provide support.
- To send service announcements, and newsletters if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- To understand website use, if you consent to analytics.
- To comply with law and enforce our terms.
How we share information
Only with:
- Service providers that help us run the service (hosting, payments, email delivery), under contracts limiting their use of it.
- Destinations a firm configures, such as webhook URLs that send leads to the firm’s CRM.
- Authorities, when the law requires, or to protect rights, safety and security.
- A successor in a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.
We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Retention
We keep account information while an account is active and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax and dispute purposes. Workspace data is retained according to the firm’s settings and deleted or anonymized after account closure, except where law requires otherwise. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security.
Security
Workspaces are isolated, connections use HTTPS, sign-in supports two-factor authentication and sensitive credentials are encrypted at rest. No system is perfectly secure; report suspected vulnerabilities to the address below. See our security overview.
Your US privacy rights
Depending on your state of residence, including California and other states with comprehensive privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- know and access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete personal information;
- receive a portable copy;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (we do neither);
- limit the use of sensitive personal information (we do not use it for purposes requiring this); and
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Make a request on our privacy choices page or by email. You may use an authorized agent. We verify requests and respond within the time required by law. We treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out of analytics on the website. California residents can learn more from the California Privacy Protection Agency.
Children
The service is for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email.
